On My Bookshelf

There's not enough time in the day to learn everything I need to know about RE and security in general. However, I'm taking it one step at a time. I often find that I start on one thing, get bored or overwhelmed, and end up never finishing it. This is especially true about books I start reading. Here's what's on my bookshelf.

• The Shellcoder's Handbook
• Secrets of Reverse Engineering
• Hacking: The Art of Exploitation
• IDA Pro: The Unofficial Guide to the World's Most Popular Disassembler
  
• The Web Application Hacker's Handbook
• The Database Hacker's Handbook

Not to say that I'll get through all these books (yeah I know I'm a slacker =), but right now I'm determined to finish at least one. I plan on going through them in the order above. I'm really into the whole reversing thing now so that's why the RE ones get top billing.

Anyway, on to the point of this post. As I read through these books I plan on putting up notes on what I've learned from each chapter I read and maybe a chapter summary and a review at the end of the book. That's the plan and hopefully I'll stick with it. Check out the "Bookshelf" links on the right to see more.
